It has taken a while but I have finally got the designs for the house that can go to planning! It has been great being here already, have unpacked some stuff to make it comfortable and homely for now. Jenny next door has been a star and I am now part of the film club and should soon be on the invite list for Friday quick drink at the Red Lion!
After the Indonesia trip, I was hesitant about coming back here, it was a big change moving to Cornwall and I was questionning it, but I should not have been so anxious – the moment I came off the A30 towards Penzance and I saw the sun shimmering on the sea, I smiled to myself!! It is amazing how looking at nature that is special to you just makes everything ok!
Last week, when the weather was ok (?), I walked down to the harbour and had lunch on the grass near the Gallery, sat on the bench near the fisherman’s statue and watched the world go by before going back to ‘the office’.
I have always tried to work out where my house is up on the hill and I think that I have finally worked it out!!

As I wrote earlier, I want to reverse the living space in the house, so the kitchen, living and dining areas will be upstairs to make the most of the light and views, and the bedrooms downstairs. The plans below are the ones going off for planning, I am happy with the plans, it has taken lots of thinking as I have to remember that most of the time it will be just me but I want to make it comfortable for anyone that comes to visit.
I want to get advice from an interior designer as I have thoughts, but they are rather disjointed and may end up with the house looking like a bit of a freak show! I have some lovely art work and furniture from India and have hoarded stuff from over the years! I have off loaded a lot of stuff but I still have far too much!
If, looking at the plans, anyone has any thoughts, please let me know!!
I have been going through the pictures from my Indonesia travels and I will write something about it soon!!
